Baby Sign Classes
Baby Sign is easy to do and you and your baby will thoroughly enjoy this quality time together. Baby Sign is very rewarding and fantastic fun. You will be amazed what your baby is capable of telling you before being able to talk.
Baby Sign combines nursery rhymes, action songs and our own unique songs to introduce signing, making it easy to remember and fun for the babies. Look out for our new CD which will be out soon. We use puppets, props and pictures to introduce and illustrate the signs. Even if you don’t have a great singing voice your child will really appreciate your efforts. We sing about many different topics that are relevant to you and your child on a daily basis.
What makes Baby Sign special is the way we use the songs to express the signs that will be most beneficial. Signing the key words in a sentence is all that is needed to emphasise the word we want to teach.
Baby Sign offers a range of classes to suit each stage of development. The babies start in the Joey and Possum class from 5 months and progress onto the Roos and Koala class at 14 months up to the age of 2 ½ years. Exceptions apply; please contact Claudia for more information.

Beginners: Joey and Possums Classes
The structured classes are 45 minutes in length allowing you to both learn numerous signs in an easy format.
The programme starts with two eight week terms for beginners (Joey and Possum classes) before the natural progression to the more advanced Kangaroo & Koala classes for toddlers. Babies enjoy the routine of attending each week, becoming familiar with the format.
Babies get the chance to play and socialise whilst parents relax before and after each class.
Handouts are provided giving extra support whilst signing at home. This is also beneficial for introducing and explaining the signs to other carers.
Places are limited and need to be booked in advance, due to popular demand.

Advanced: Kangaroo and Koala Classes
The toddlers classes are 45 minutes in length, however we are really stepping up a gear now.
As you are both established with signing we will be increasing your little ones vocabulary by introducing the phonics, colours, subjects including animals and the ever interesting subject of potty and toileting, the joys of parenting.
As your toddler is moving around the programme has been adapted so it is more interactive for your child.
Help support your toddler learn about danger, hot, no, supporting them to understand what is not safe and what is good and positive.
The Kangaroo and Koala class works on positive praise and empowering you child to do things for themselves and build confidence.
Interaction with the other children is a great way for them to learn through play and of course exploration!
Baby Sign is recognised by speech and language professionals, nurseries, and schools across WA. Baby Sign is compatible with Makaton and other sign supporting systems.
